The Catalan Government today awarded the hotel company owned by the ONCE Business Corporation, Confortel Hoteles, the Tourism prize for this autonomous community, for its work in developing the Catalan tourism industry.

The awards ceremony, held at the auditorium in the Palacio de la Generalitat, was attended by the President of the Catalan Government José Montilla, the Minister of Trade, Tourism and Consumer Affairs of Catalonia Josep Huguet, and the General Director for Tourism Joan Carles Vilalta. The award was received by the General Manager of Confortel Hoteles, José Ángel Preciados and its Business Development Manager, Javier Sancho.

The Catalan Government awarded 10 medals and tourism diplomas to different tourism organisations for their participation in tourism development in the Autonomous Community of Catalonia.

For José Ángel Preciados, this award represents the acknowledgement of this hotel´s development in encouraging quality tourism. He confirms that "this prize awards the work of an entire team, which strives on a daily basis to guarantee the satisfaction of its guests by focusing special attention to detail" 

Confortel Hoteles has five 3 and 4-star hotels in Catalonia: Confortel Almirante, Confortal Auditori, Confortel Bel Art and Confortel Barcelona, in the capital of Catalonia and Confortel Caleta Park in Gerona (S´Agaró).
