Hotels Confortel Almirante and Confortel Bel Art in Barcelona and the Confortel Puerta de Triana in Seville, have earned the Certification of Universal Access from the Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification (AENOR), according to Spanish standard UNE 170001-2:2007 on universal access.
With these three new certifications, this hotel chain owned by the ONCE Business Corporation now has a total of eight establishments with this distinction.
Hotels Confortel Suites Madrid, Confortel Barcelona and Confortel Auditori earned this qualification last July, and hotels Confortel Alcalá Norte and Confortel Pío XII in Madrid did so in January 2009 and June 2007, respectively.
Aenor´s Universal Access Certification guarantees the same possibilities to access and use the services provided by the hotel to all guests, regardless of whether they are physically challenged or not.
Confortel Hoteles strives for excellence with regard to accessibility, and its aim is for all of its establishments to receive this AENOR certification.
Confortel Hoteles is a pioneer in the promotion of accessible tourism and it plans to continue incorporating technological innovations into its installations in the future. Currently, all of its hotels have rooms that are fully adapted to physically challenged guests, and are designed with the same decorative criteria as the rest of the facilities for this chain.
Moreover, Confortel sees universal access as a fundamental requirement. For this reason, Confortel Hoteles trains all of its new staff on ways to ensure that all hotel services are accessible to all guests, regardless of whether they are physically challenged or not.
