Valencia
Valencia has a deep-rooted Arabic influence and it has been the focal point of many important historic events in Spain. The city's architecture reveals traces from every different historical periods, from its medieval and Gothic old quarter, with churches and convents and the area surrounding the Cathedral, through to the modernism reflected in its public buildings such as La Estación del Norte (North Train Station).
Today, Valencia is at the forefront of the avant-garde with the creation of the City of the Arts and Sciences Museum, one of the largest scientific and cultural centres in Europe, a truly spectacular architectural feat.
